Yesterday our club had an outstanding achievement. Touge Alliance went home with it's first trophy.
Touge Alliance was involved in the 2012, Old Skool N New age Auto Show at Morphett Vale Football Club Oval.
We all started off by getting together and meeting up at Macca's on South Road at 6am, YES 6am.
With everyone turning up and Marcus Cepon with his car on a trailer (extra thanks goes to him, who worked extremely hard to get his car out yesterday), we were off. Down Main South Road till we got to the football club, where we pulled over and got our entrant stickers on our cars.
After a lot of talking and planning for a wile, we then started to move our cars into their final positions to start off our display. Complete with Jared's Gazebo, uniforms and our Touge Alliance banners designed by August, we were looking good.
It rained about 3 times during the morning. So every time the sun came out, we were out there wiping our cars off. Finally the sun came back out and stayed out, which was fantastic.
It was then time, to head off and have a look around, some lovely cars out there, everything from old historic cars, to a lovely H.S.V Walkenshaw v8 supercharged commodore.
It was around 4 when we got the call to head over to the club rooms for the announcements. With a few members coming along with me to represent Touge Alliance, the unexpected happened, ''Runner up of the car club displays are ... 'TOUGE ALLIANCE''. I could not believe it; none of us could. Jared actually said to me, ''It's us, go get the trophy". As I was walking up to collect our trophy, all I could think about was our club, our Members and what we had gone through to get here: rain, planning, sandwiches etc. I really was proud, and quite emotional. It was fantastic to receive this trophy, for EVERYONE'S hard work.
FINALY I would like to thank all entrants, Jared Green, Graeme Green, Daniel (M3), Adam (Supra), Shaun Dwyer, Rampage, Cam Dwyer and Marcus Cepon.
I would also like to thank Alex, Kira, Oppo, Rosie, August, Yuka, Yoshiko, Kim Dwyer, Kim Marshall and Sam for their help and support thought the day, and for attending the day.
Congrats also goes to the winners of the Touge Alliance internal comp, with Graeme Green's MG placed 3rd, Michael's Commodore 2nd, and Dan's BMW M3 winning outright as cleanest and most well looked after car.
