Hyperdrive3d Interclub Challenge III
The last week of October 2012, The weather is getting on the hot side but with any luck not too hot for November 1st @ Mallala Motorsport Park.
November 1st 2012 was the third trackday held by Hyperdrive3d Interclub Challenges with the association and support of Touge Alliance. The day yet again set to bring people out to the track to see what their cars could do. The day always comprises of some awesome looking cars and today was no exception. The most "race ready" car in the line-up was a Porsche GT3 Cup Car driven by T O'Daly and it was his first time out in the car which was also left hand drive.
Other cars in the field consisted of RX7's, EVO's, Porsches's and an assortment of Nissans, Toyotas and Subaru's etc which are daily street driven vehicles. The day comprised of a number of 10 minute sessions for drivers only and a couple of passenger sessions so the drivers could show their family and friends what its like to fly around the track.
As a thankyou to the drivers who entered, Hyperdrive3d supplied a BBQ free of charge and with his helpers who are mostly family they did a great job of catering for many hungry mouths during the day. At the start of the event, all drivers had the option to hire out a GPS Logger to record all their laptimes during the day. Over 75% of the drivers thought this would be a good option and therefore had alot of data to analyse the day after. ( All driver data can be found at: http://hyperdrive3d.com.au/H3DIC3.php )
The day brought out the good and the bad in some cars, some having issues right from the word go, and others performing faultlessly for the whole day. No matter who you ask, everyone enjoyed themselves whether it was as a driver or a passenger / spectator.
Congratulations to the following people for running the fastest lap times in their category:
AWD - B Bennett (EVO X) - 1:19.0
RWD - J Bradbrook (FD RX7) - 1:19.2
FWD - R Helmers (N15 Pulsar Turbo) - 1:22.0
We hope to see everyone out there again for Hyperdrive3d Interclub Challenge IV in April / May 2013.
