Annual Spitroast Cruise

Being a Saturday evening we were expecting big things from the now annual "Spit-roast Cruise"

With the evening beginning with tea at 6:30pm at Cafe B, we had quite a few people rock up for a massive feed including many plates of chips & wedges provided by some generous Touge members. Thanks to Jessie's step dad for making dinner a riot

After we had finished stuffing ourselves we headed to the cars to have, what turned out to be, an "interesting" cruise.

We moved off in an orderly fashion through Athelstone to go UP Gorge Road - normally only get to go down (nothing dirty intended) - on our way to Lobethal. We had a couple of indiscretions on they way but nothing our illustrious leaders couldn't sort out.

We had a little break in Lobethal for a chat, wee & shift of road position then moved on the "back way" to Mount Lofty Summit.

Whilst this stretch of road seemed to like holding the water it was a smooth cruise with many great tight corners & looooong sweepers. The thick fog was also hanging around making the wet even more fun. A couple of us got the unfortunate pleasure of meeting a white Honda on the way, who decided it was his night to be a TOOL!! We eventually made it to our stop & came across an interesting surprise.

Touge was not the only club to meet up here; HardTuned.com rocked up shortly after. There was also a wedding reception that was also on made car parking tight.

After watching HardTuned.com depart we made our merry way down Greenhill Road, which was a winner, as the weather had started to dry up & the roads were drying nicely.

Unfortunately the rest of the Touge crew seemed to get the unfortunate pleasure of meeting the white Honda on his way down the mountain, but his attitude had not changed & caused many a near miss, including oncoming traffic.

We all finished up at Burnside Shopping Centre for a chat with people dispersing in many different directions

MEA Sound Quality & SPL Comp

Awesome day had by all who attended.

We had Alex, Colin & myself in the DB Comp & we also had Cameron, Marcus & Colin (busy boy) in the Sound Quality Comp.

Cameron was kept very busy with Judging the Advanced SQL Comp hence him not entering dB.

Jared & his MUMMY also showed up to lend their support for a couple of hours.

Starting at 9am this morning the judges started with the SQL as it takes a long time to process the cars & go through all of the bits & pieces on their EXTENSIVE list.

I hope Marcus or Colin will be able to post up their sheets because it's definitely an interesting read.

Marcus got plenty of looks for his amps mounted to the roof impressing some of the fitters from the state & Vic but Colin showed him up with a 2nd place in his division.

Cameron fared fairly well after a late night & early morning to fix a couple of niggling problems but all turned out well.

They can all update you on their relative scores & entry levels.

The db comp seemed to start in the carpark - as per usual - before the event had started.

With varying levels of modification from mild to wild & the number of different cars the comp was an awesome spectacle.

The top db after 3 runs was 158.3dB from a Mazda with 2x18's & a Corona wagon from Victoria - it drove here with the stereo - rating 148dB

Novice Hatch:
1st was 141.1dB
Shaun - 135.2dB with a 2x12's in a prefab box from Ang's - awesome value

Novice Sedan:
1st was 137.2dB
Colin - 132.2dB with 3x8's
Alex - 128.8dB with 2x12's

Note: Novice dB all power had to be limited to 1000WRMS, any over was Pro Street

Alex & Colin took many photos & will hopefully post them up soon.

Other than the weather, an awesome day & great representation by Touge.

With 4 out of the 5 Touge cars containing Ang's hard work we must thank Ang's Audio for hosting the day with MEA - Gotta love our sponsors.
